The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) has approved Bramming Plast-Industri A/S’s near-term science-based emissions reduction target

The latest climate science from IPCC shows that it is still possible to limit global temperature rise to 1.5°C, but we are dangerously close to the threshold the United Nations describes as “code red for humanity”. Therefore, it is urgent that we take action with rapid and deep emissions cuts.

The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) has approved Bramming Plast-Industri A/S’s near-term science-based emissions reduction target. Bramming Plast-Industri A/S’ target is to reduce scope 1 and scope 2 GHG 42% by 2030 from a 2021 base year, and to measure and reduce its scope 3 emissions.

“By joining the SBTi, we want to continuously develop our climate actions and secure that they are in line with the latest science. Since 2021, we have intensified our ambitions and actions to reduce our carbon footprint, and we are proud to announce our commitment to meet the 1.5°C by 2030 – and to be a part of a community that are taking the necessary steps to reduce climate impact”, says Thomas Tvedergaard Larsen, CEO at Bramming Plast-Industri A/S.

The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) is a collaboration between CDP, the United Nations Global Compact, World Resources Institute (WRI) and the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF). The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) defines and promotes best practice in science-based target setting and independently assesses companies’ target.
